Life with limited internet
Crazy4LostSep 11, 06 - 3:52 AM Life with limited internet
I thought I should let you all know that my visits/posts will be limited for a while. My daughter was getting way too obsessed with being online (as well as some other trouble not online). As part of her punishment I have taken away the internet. I want her to see I can live without it for a while just to prove a point. So for the next month I won't be around very much but I will check in when I can.

Live...without...internet???
You can do that?
Isn't there...like...a law or something?
No...internet???
I don't think such a thing is possible.
Maybe on tv, but not in real life.
Just thinking about it makes me feel ...

LOL, GB! i had to survive without internet this past weekend and it was a near-death experience. i was visiting a friend up in NJ and something was wrong with their wireless network and while i was enjoying my time, i could not WAIT to get home, even if it was to dinosaur dial up and AOL.
c4l-when your daughter is at school and you're not at the job, you could surf all you want!

C4L: Oh, my! This will be difficult for all. I swear the internet is addictive. For the week that I had a non-working hard drive, I had the shakes and nausea. And I paced, lots and lots of pacing!

Isn't "Dial-Up" only for Amish people?

C4L, is this your daughter's punishment or your own??? One morning when my daughter was about 10, she did something to warrant a punishment. My husband said, "When she gets home from school, she has to stay in, not go outside with her friends." My reaction was, "Why? What did I do????"

Jess -
I know what you mean, it was kinda like I was punishing myself. But I wanted to show her I could live (sort of) without it too. As you can see, I sneak on every once in a while. She made me crazy the 1st week, but it's been better this week. I actually accidently left it connected yesterday and she never even noticed!! Made me chuckle!
