Alvar Hanso
| jas65 Sep 26, 06 - 1:03 PM | Alvar Hanso Not sure if anyone ever checks out the Hanso Foundation webpage. I happened to look at it today and all it is now is a statement from Alvar Hanso, who has been freed from imprisonment...well, you can read it yourselves. Here's the link: http://thehansofoundation.org/ |
| wesb Sep 27th, 2006 - 4:41 AM | There's another, spookier message hidden in that page. Click on the word "humanity" for a response from Mittelwerk. The war still goes on... |
| wesb Sep 27th, 2006 - 4:46 AM | Oops... there's more than one "humanity." Last word in the third paragraph, and make it a double click if one doesn't work... |
| jas65 Sep 27th, 2006 - 6:15 AM | Wes - freaky. I don't know how you found that. I was looking at the bottom of the page. There are a bunch of jumbled letters. I can't make out what it is or what it's supposed to say. It's rather faint. It's between Alvar's signature and the Hanso insignia. Can you make it out? |
| wesb Sep 27th, 2006 - 8:15 AM | I hadn't noticed those letters, but that's a good observation. I can't make them out either, and unfortunately the whole letter seems to be part of a Macromedia Flash object, which I don't know how to capture and enlarge. If it were just a .gif or .jpg image, I could just save it and zoom in on the letters in an image viewer, but all I can see are faint little letters that might be written on top of other letters. I'm sure they mean something... |
| wesb Sep 27th, 2006 - 8:42 AM | I guess I have to yell out a pretty loud "Duh!!!" I captured the whole screen image with CTRL-Print Screen and pasted the screen image into Paint. Then I could zoom in. The First 3 letters are either uppercase IEP or LEP (there's an extra faint area that is ambiguous) then there appears to be "FR\", all smashed together into one character, and with a dot over the F, then what appears to be "IGA" all smashed together into one character, with an extra dot over the I, then what looks like a "WWP" smashed together, with the second W and the P sharing the same vertical line, then a "DP" smashed together in bold lettering, then there's what could be "II" or the greek letter Pi with a little notch cut out of the upper left hand corner, and that's under a square root symbol, only there's a complex symbol at the upper left of the square root symbol, making it some root other than two, finally there's an "eoi'" smashed together. Well, that was pretty enlightening, wasn't it? |
| Greybishop Sep 27th, 2006 - 8:46 AM | Wes - I was just doing the same thing. I have less understanding now than before. |
| wesb Sep 27th, 2006 - 8:57 AM | GB - I've heard that great minds think alike -- I guess this confirms it... It doesn't seem to mean much, but the way this whole "Lost Experience" thing worked, a piece at one site became meaningful only at some other site. These thingies could be part of a password or a validation code or something that unlocks something somewhere else. Or, the program used to compose the letter may have just barfed up some extra characters that went unnoticed because they were so faint. Thing is, the whole LE thing was supposed to have ended on Sunday, but there seem to be more things still happening... |
| jas65 Sep 27th, 2006 - 12:01 PM | Wes & GB - you guys are great. Never even thought to try what you were doing. Thanks for trying. Sooner or later someone will figure it out. Then again, like GB said, it could just be a bunch of barf. Just seems like one of those odd things they like to do though to hide information or a link. |
| Greybishop Sep 27th, 2006 - 12:17 PM | jas65 - I tend to think that it will turn out to mean something, since it has a "not random" feel. The cube(quad? penta?) root sign over the other sign leads me down the "mathmatical equations that will save the world" route. Oh, and it was Wes who suggested (quite rightly) that it could easily be nothing more than computer generated |
| Prettyeyes Sep 27th, 2006 - 4:08 PM | Wesb.... have you checked out the Letyourcompassguideyou website recently since your into the Lostexperience game? You should check it out if not. |
| wesb Sep 28th, 2006 - 9:38 AM | Hey, Prettyeyes... Thanks for the pointer. It makes me wonder what one snowman said to the other snowman... |
| Greybishop Sep 30th, 2006 - 8:31 AM | So, I go to the Hanso site and read the letter. I even try to decipher that weird bit of faded text. Nothin'. Embedded in the source code of the site I find "www.rachelblake.com" which is set up like a blog. And wierd to boot. Just thought you might be interested... |
| sawsee Sep 30th, 2006 - 9:00 AM | Thanks PrettyEyes! Your link led me to a downloadable 'zip' file. It shows hospital records with "do not resuscitate' authorizations by patients. And info on organ transfers. So....I bet Jack, Kate and Sawyer are considered to have 'great, healthy organs!!??' Is this why Hurley was cast away? I'm not sure if I like this direction, if indeed it turns out to be correct. Kind of gross and sick! This story line has shades of the book (and Movie), The Constant Gardner. |
| wesb Oct 2nd, 2006 - 6:50 AM | In the whole Lost Experience thing, Rachel Blake was the main character; a crusader trying to expose the doings of The Hanso Foundation and particularly the shady operations of Thomas Mittelwerk. Alvar Hanso had been incommunicado for years, and as it turned out kept captive by Mittelwerk. Last week, he was released at last, and it turns out Rachel Blake is Hanso's daughter (shades of Luke Skywalker!!!) Rachel is the one who shot the Sri Lanka video with the "new" Dharma Orientation film in it, and she's the one screaming at the end of the video when she's discovered. The business with organ transplants is another Hanso operation that I don't think has been fully revealed. It's separate from the genetically targeted virus that's supposed to kill of 30% of those infected. |
