LB -
I'll make you (And all the regulars) a deal .
If I can manage to get published , either through this contest or through more conventional means, I'll sign and ship back (return shipping on me) any copies of my book you buy.
Deal?

GB, that sounds like a great deal. Of course, no one is going to want to return anything you write. I really enjoy reading your stuff. When will we be able to read your 3-day book? Do you have to wait for the judges to make a final decision? Can you give us a chapter or two?

Good luck this weekend. Why did I think it was last week? I have been somewhat...shall we say..."egocentric"...these past few weeks, getting ready for my new job as a teacher. Sorry I got your weekends confused. I'm certain you will do a terrific job. And even if you don't win the contest, at least you've got your novel written. You can still submit it to publishers if you don't win the contest, can't you? I, for one, can't wait to read it.

Oh, and the other good news is that you got the work done in your den that you had wanted to do. See, it's all good!

Jess -
Thanks. I'm sure if I get published that anyone here will be able to live without their copy of it for a week or so while I sign it and ship it back.
As to the contest, I retain all the rights to the book unless I agree to the pub contract they offer as first prize. I don't know the details about pre-publishing the thing, but if I make the short list, I'll ask. I'm not holding my breath.
Once this weekend is done... , I'll look into the possibility of posting the novel for y'all...

GB-even if you don't win this weekend (and i have NO earthly clue as to why you wouldn't!), maybe you can just print the document, autograph it, and send it to me (i'll send you $$$ for postage, of course, and paper, and toner, and... )?

perhaps you should head out to subway today and get a few sandwiches to keep in the 'fridge, so they're there, waiting for you, should you get hungry. or, buy a package of cookies!
